Buffalo took him 97th overall in the 1970 NHL Amateur Draft out of the St. Catharines Black Hawks. He won the Calder Cup with the AHL's Cincinnati Swords in 1973 and scored a goal in his first NHL game on February 4, 1973. Buffalo traded him to the Islanders for Brian Spencer in March 1974, and the Islanders sent him to Minnesota with Ernie Hicke for J.P. Parise in January 1975. He finished with 150 NHL games, 24 goals and 27 assists, and played out his career in the CHL with Dallas and Fort Worth, winning the Adams Cup in 1978.
