Authenticity Guarantee

Important Notice Regarding Third-Party Grading

B&R Collectibles is an independent dealer and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any third-party grading service (e.g., PCGS, NGC, PSA, SGC). The guarantees offered by these companies are entirely their own. Policies, terms, and coverage can vary significantly and may change over time.

As a buyer, you are responsible for researching and understanding the specific guarantee, if any, that the grading company provides for the item you are considering. Your purchase signifies your acceptance and trust in that company's opinion and policies.

Welcome to the cornerstone of B&R Collectibles. In the world of collectibles, authenticity isn't just a detail—it's everything. We believe that every collector, whether a seasoned expert or a passionate newcomer, deserves the peace of mind that comes from knowing their purchase is genuine, secure, and exactly as described.

Our guarantee is our commitment to upholding the integrity of the hobby. It is designed to be transparent and direct, so you can focus on the joy of collecting.

Understanding the Guarantees for Your Collectible

The certified collectibles we sell have been graded and encapsulated by independent third-party services. As such, two separate and unaffiliated guarantees apply to your purchase, and it is important to understand the distinct role of each:

1. Our Guarantee: The Integrity of the Holder Our lifetime guarantee applies to the certified holder itself. We guarantee that at the time of sale, the holder has passed all internal authentication checks, including verification against the grader’s official database and confirmation via its embedded NFC tag (where applicable). This ensures your item is sealed in an authentic and untampered holder from the specified third-party grading service. This promise means the collectible and the grader's opinion have been securely preserved and have not been altered or compromised while in the supply chain.

To stand behind this promise, we create a "digital fingerprint"—a set of high-resolution images documenting each item's unique characteristics and holder details—before it is shipped. This is our permanent record for every piece we sell.

2. The Grading Company's Guarantee: The Authenticity of the Item

Whereas the guarantee provided by B&R Collectibles is strictly limited to the authenticity and integrity of the holder, any and all recourse or financial indemnification concerning the enclosed item is predicated upon the terms of the third-party certification company's guarantee, should such a guarantee exist and be applicable to the item in question

The buyer acknowledges their sole responsibility to perform due diligence prior to purchase, including independently verifying the existence and specific stipulations of any guarantee offered by the third-party grading service. The completion of a purchase constitutes the buyer's express acceptance of the third-party grader's expert opinion and their associated terms, if any. B&R Collectibles shall not act as an intermediary, agent, or representative for the buyer in any claim or dispute with the aforementioned grading service.

The Formal Claim Process

In the rare event you need to make a claim against our guarantee on the holder, we have a clear and definitive resolution process. A differing opinion from another dealer is not sufficient to activate this guarantee; a formal review by the original grading service is required.

Step 1: Initiate Your Claim You must first contact us at returns@BRcollectibles.co to formally initiate a claim. Please do not ship the item to a grading service until you complete the next step.

Step 2: Provide Pre-Shipment Photos Before shipping the item for review, you must email us clear, current photographs. For slabbed items, these photos must show the front, back, and all edges of the holder to document its present, untampered condition. We will compare these to our original "digital fingerprint" to confirm the item's identity.

Step 3: Submit for Formal Review Once we approve your photos, you may ship the item for a formal review. The item must remain in its original, untampered holder throughout this process. The buyer is responsible for the initial cost of shipping and insuring the item to the grading service.

  • For Slabbed/Certified Items: The item must be sent back to the original grading service that encapsulated it (e.g., a PSA-graded card must be sent to PSA). The item must still be sealed in its original, untampered holder.

  • For Raw/Uncertified Items: The item must be submitted to a top-tier service appropriate for the item type (e.g., PCGS, NGC, ANACS for coins; PSA or SGC for cards).

Step 4: Final Resolution and Reimbursement The opinion of the official grading service regarding the holder's authenticity and integrity is final and binding.

  • If the service deems the holder "Not Genuine" or "Tampered": Upon verification, we will provide a full resolution. We will refund you the current market value of the item, plus all authentication fees and shipping costs you incurred.

    • Current Market Value is defined as the average of the last three (3) sold eBay listings for the exact same item, meaning the same coin or card from the same grading company, with the same grade and variety listed on the holder.

  • If the service deems the holder "Genuine" and "Untampered": Our guarantee has been met, and no refund from B&R Collectibles applies. The owner is responsible for all costs incurred during this review process.

Important: In the event the grading service determines the item inside is not authentic but the holder is genuine (reversing their original opinion), your only recourse is with the grading service. You must file a claim directly with them and follow their specific process to pursue compensation under their guarantee, if one is available for your item.

Important Distinctions & Limitations

Our guarantee on the holder is absolute. However, it is important to distinguish it from the subjective nature of condition grading.

  • We guarantee the holder is real. You determine if the item's condition is right for you.

  • The grade assigned to an item is the professional opinion of the third-party service. If you are unsatisfied with an item's condition upon receipt for any reason, you are welcome to use our 30-Day Free Return Policy.

Limitations of Our Guarantee Our guarantee does not cover:

  • The Grader's Opinion: Disagreements with the grade or authenticity opinion of the third-party grader. This is covered by the grader's own guarantee, if applicable.

  • Evolving Standards: Changes in a grading company's opinion due to new information or standards that were not available at the time of the original certification. This is covered by the grader's own guarantee, if applicable.

  • Clerical Errors: Obvious typos or data entry errors on the holder's label.

  • Post-Sale Damage: Any damage to the item or holder that occurs after the sale is complete, including cracks, chips, major scratches, improper cleaning, or environmental damage from poor storage.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

How is the identity of a returned item verified to protect both me and the seller? Our "digital fingerprint" is key. We have detailed images of every item's unique markers and its specific holder on file. We compare these to your pre-shipment photos and the official images taken by the grading service to create an unbroken chain of evidence.

Why don't you guarantee the grade or authenticity of the item inside the holder? The authentication and grading of a collectible is a specialized, expert opinion provided by the third-party company that encapsulated it. We are not affiliated with them and our expertise is in verifying the integrity of their sealed holders. By selling items in third-party certified holders, we are preserving their expert opinion for you. Your trust should be placed in the grading company for the item's grade and authenticity, and in us for the holder's security.

What if I disagree with the grade on the holder? Disagreements over the grade are a matter of professional opinion and are not covered by our guarantee. However, if you are not satisfied with the item for any reason, you can return it under our 30-Day Free Return Policy.

Which grading services do you recognize? We recognize industry leaders like PCGS, NGC, ANACS, ICG, and CACG for coins, and PSA and SGC for cards. For a claim to be valid, the item must be reviewed by the original grading service.
