Maroon Ice is a numbered parallel limited to 275 copies, with the shattered ice pattern running edge to edge in a deep maroon that shifts through teal and violet as the card moves. The serial stamp reads 096/275 on the back.

Ray Allen is one of the great shooters in the history of the sport, and this is him in the Sonics uniform, which is the version a lot of collectors want most. Milwaukee took him fifth overall out of Connecticut in 1996 and traded him to Seattle in 2003. He spent four and a half seasons there, made two of his ten All Star teams in that jersey, and put up the 45 point Game 4 against Sacramento in the 2005 playoffs that the back of this card describes.

He finished with 24,505 points and 2,973 three pointers, a record that stood until Stephen Curry passed it, and he shot better than 40 percent from deep for his career. Two championships followed, in Boston in 2008 and Miami in 2013, where his corner three in Game 6 against San Antonio is one of the most replayed shots in NBA history. He went into the Hall of Fame in 2018. With Seattle in line to have a franchise again, Sonics era cards have become a steadier corner of the market than they were a few years ago.
